About Us
Pitstop Creations is a collaboration between artists Nick Tiernan and Sarah Oxley, combining their shared experience and skills to bring stories and ideas to life. We create environments, costumes, props and bespoke pieces. We have collaborated for over twelve years and find that our personalities and strengths compliment each other perfectly.
Nick Tiernan - standby props, set builder & prop maker
When Nick isn’t cooking (outdoors over an open fire if possible), in his veg patch or out walking and foraging in the woods somewhere, he can be found creating all manner of weird and wonderful things in his workshop.
Nick currently works in tv as standby props but previously worked as special effects tutor and an events company site manager for many years before moving into the art department for television and theatre.
Nick has been a prop maker, sculptor and set builder for over twenty years, creating everything from a life size elephant puppet and replica WW1 rifles to full prosthetic and foam sculptured costumes complete with armour and horns to creating a pair of human sized demon wings and building a huge Tower of London in a dry swimming pool.
His sets, sculptures and props have been seen by thousands of people in theatre productions, on tv and on parades such as Manchester Day, Manchester Diwali and Live Action Role Play events across the country.
